Mennonite Central Committee has a new way for volunteers to get involved in its ministry. Akron Connection offers one- to two-year volunteer assignments at its headquarters in Akron. MCC covers all expenses including food and lodging, medical insurance, assistance with student loans, and a monthly stipend in exchange for volunteers contributing to the organization in areas such as photography, computer services, housekeeping, writing, administrative assistance, etc. |

Through Pennsylvania's Adopt-A-Highway program, the Diakonia Sunday School Class has taken on the responsibility of keeping a stretch of Route 222 North litter-free. Several times throughout the year, class members and other volunteers from the church put on their gloves and head outdoors to pick up trash that has been thrown along a 2-mile stretch of Route 222 between the Brownstown bridge and the Farmersville bridge. This involvement was initiated out of the classmembers' desire to be good stewards of the environment in some sort of concrete way. |

Mission and Service Investment Initiatives |

Our Mission and Service Investment Inititives is a program that provides spiritual, emotional, and financial support to youth and adults participating in mission and service projects. Love gifts and resettlement funds are provided to vounteers who serve six months or longer. Both short-term and long-term service opportunities are available through the Mennonite Mission Network, Mennonite Central Committee, and Mennonite Disaster Service.
